Information about Aged Wine

With aging, the wine takes on brick-red shades, while its aromatic composition is enriched and the richness of its taste is highlighted, creating a balanced, but also complicated overall effect.

 The conditions

The variety, the differentiation of climate conditions by year, the way that the wine is vinified, its aging in barrels at a suitable temperature and humidity, and its proper preservation in the bottle are the factors that determine whether aging is possible for it or not.

 Aging at Vourvoukeli Estate

The Estate’s wines are aged in French oak barrels in the underground cellar, under ideal conditions of temperature and humidity. Aging in the bottle continues in a special underground area, with natural conditions of temperature and humidity (an underground cellar 10 meters below surface level, with natural underground rock).
