BRIEF INFORMATION

Assyrtiko is the newest label of Vourvoukeli Estate. After completing its alcoholic fermentation, the wine spends four months in stainless steel tanks for bâtonnage with its wine lees, in order to gain volume and variety. It has a soft golden color, aromas of lemon grass, white flowers, and hints of tropical fruits, as well as quince and aromas of ripe citrus. Full-bodied, its taste is dry, with a high level of acidity, while it has a long-lasting aftertaste.

Soft, golden color

 

Bouquet

A pure bouquet with herbal aromas (lemongrass), notes of plants, and citrus.

 

Taste

A dry taste with a high level of acidity, a chalky sensation with earthy notes, and a beautiful aftertaste.

 

VINIFICATION

Vinification after cold extraction, static debourbage, and fermentation of the clear must at a controlled temperature of 16-18°C. The wine stays with its wine lees, to result in a greater body in the end. The long duration of alcoholic fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks. Completion of alcoholic fermentation is followed by a period of bâtonnage, lasting several months.

The vineyards are located in Avdira, at the southeastern end of the Protected Geographic Indication area.
